~ I'm having a catharis~

~First off..... what does catharsis mean?~

The meaning of the term is highly controversial, but in relation to the drama it generally refers to an emotional result that derives from strong feelings such as great sorrow, fear, pity, laughter, or any other extreme change in emotion; this result has traditionally been variously described as either a purification or a purging of such emotions. So it seems as is this could be somewhat of a doodle, poem, or even piece of art work!

For example:

Romeo and Juliet!

In Romeo and Juliet this might happen when Romeo takes the poison. All the tension and rising action that has been built up so far in the plot comes to a climax at this point, and the audience might experience a feeling of a cathartic release from its termination/resolution. I know i felt angry because Juliet was not able to clear things up with Romeo, therefore they were not able to say what they wanted to say, at the end.!
