JACKSON POLLACK.... enough said

Jackson Pollock

was an influential American painter and a major figure in the abstract expressionist movement. During his lifetime, Pollock enjoyed considerable fame and notoriety. He was regarded as a mostly reclusive artist. He had a volatile personality and struggled with alcoholism all of his life. In 1945, he married the artist Lee Krasner, who became an important influence on his career and on his legacy. He died at the age of 44 in an alcohol-related, single-car crash.

~Michael Jackson...~

A true artist at work. Michael Jackson has lived a full filling life with being an amazing artist. That title was given to him by Elizabeth Taylor when she presented an aware with him. Obviously, millions upon millions of people agreed, as the name stuck. He will never looked down apon for people who truly cared about his work.

~Artists in Society..~

Artist Right Society
A country that loves art, not artists
In a survey of attitudes toward artists in the US a vast majority of Americans, 96%, said they were greatly inspired by various kinds of art and highly value art in their lives and communities. But the data suggests a strange paradox.

While Americans value art, the end product, they do not value what artists do.

~Art and Film~

Children of Men!
Directed by Ralph Curon, this scene shows guernica by Picasso. Guernica shows the tragedies of war and the suffering it inflicts upon individuals, particularly innocent civilians. This monumental work has gained a monumental status, becoming a perpetual reminder of the tragedies of war, an anti-war symbol, and an embodiment of peace.

~Art to me is....~

I know what art is because everytime i look at my top three favorite artist, like Jackson Pollack, or Salvador Dali, they all have what i want, to be free withwhat i want in life.

~Art Education, A MUST! ~

~ArT EdUcAtIoN~
Art education will never become a t past time because art is the past, art is the present and future. Kids need an outlet, and art was my outlet from just getting away from stress and just doing what i was doing, and that was painting. A strong arts education promotes the skills children need to be successful. Exposure to art education promotes self-directed learning, improves school attendance and sharpens critical and creative skills. In fact, several recent studies have concluded that the creativity and innovation utilized in the artistic process will be highly valued by employers in the United States in the coming years as we continue to shift into a global economy.

~A real Curator...~

Jamila Adeli
Wow this man works wonders, with the curation of what he does. Him and his team worked on Clad Cahun, and brought back this dissemblance photo back to life.

~Public Art~

PUBLIC ART... what is it?

Ecobio, located at Georgia State Public art in downtown Invercargill, N.Z.

~This is a Culture..? ~

Nudist colony....werid, but true.
no longer a favored term, ... as free body culture is the name for the general movement in Germany. ... Its a way of life.

Free body culture is way to describe a feeling towards freedom, and inner peace with one. This couple in the picture are two German lovers, being free, free to hike, free to love, and free to breath in there own skin. People think this is a crazy nudist freak show, but its not. It shows comfortable in ones own skin. Adam and Eve

~Why not... Graffiti?~

!GRAFFITI!

From little five points, to atlanta, i have seen alot of this because i grew up with it. I think graffiti is an amazing thing that is looked down apon, but I dont think so.

~I love this piece of architecture~

~FRANK Lloyd WRIGHT~

I admire Wright's architecture for its human scale, spatial freedom, integration with the site and compatibility of materials, form and method of construction. He made this into a home, it is a place of calm and peace. Wow would I would do to get a house like that.

Falling Water, 1935

~Salvador Dali, an amazing artist~

SALVADOR Dali
"Those who do not want to imitate anything, produce nothing."
- Salvador Dali

As an artist, Salvador Dali was not limited to a particular style or media. The body of his work, from early impressionist paintings through his transitional surrealist works, and into his classical period, reveals a constantly growing and evolving artist. He never was affraid to try something different or even weird. He did what he wanted to do, and that was making beautiful pieces like this one called, " Butterflies." It's so simple yet tasteful.

~A True Poet~

Janis Joplin
(queen of rock n roll)
Janis new her shin dig! She was not only the queen of rock n roll but also Janis had a way of writing and putting her words into an amazing out look of songs. Joplin was a pioneer in the male-dominated rock music scene of the late 1960s, influencing generations of musicians to come. Steve Nicks commented that after seeing Joplin perform, "I knew that a little bit of my destiny had changed. I would search to find that connection that I had seen between Janis and her audience. In a blink of an eye she changed my life.
~Piece Of My Heart~
Oh, come on, come on, come on, come on!

Didn’t I make you feel like you were the only man —yeah!
Didn’t I give you nearly everything that a woman possibly can ?
Honey, you know I did!
And each time I tell myself that I, well I think I’ve had enough,
But I’m gonna show you, baby, that a woman can be tough.

I want you to come on, come on, come on, come on and take it,
Take it!
Take another little piece of my heart now, baby!
Oh, oh, break it!
Break another little bit of my heart now, darling, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh, oh, have a!
Have another little piece of my heart now, baby,
You know you got it if it makes you feel good,
Oh, yes indeed.

You’re out on the streets looking good,
And baby deep down in your heart I guess you know that it ain’t right,
Never, never, never, never, never, never hear me when I cry at night,
Babe, I cry all the time!
And each time I tell myself that I, well I can’t stand the pain,
But when you hold me in your arms, I’ll sing it once again.

I’ll say come on, come on, come on, come on and take it!
Take it!
Take another little piece of my heart now, baby.
Oh, oh, break it!
Break another little bit of my heart now, darling, yeah,
Oh, oh, have a!
Have another little piece of my heart now, baby,
You know you got it, child, if it makes you feel good.

I need you to come on, come on, come on, come on and take it,
Take it!
Take another little piece of my heart now, baby!
oh, oh, break it!
Break another little bit of my heart, now darling, yeah, c’mon now.
oh, oh, have a
Have another little piece of my heart now, baby.
You know you got it —whoahhhhh!!

Take it!
Take it! Take another little piece of my heart now, baby,
Oh, oh, break it!
Break another little bit of my heart, now darling, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
Oh, oh, have a
Have another little piece of my heart now, baby, hey,
You know you got it, child, if it makes you feel good.

~My Right brain+ My left Brain~

LEFT V.S Right

One of my friends, Erica hunter is an artist, and she drew this piece of artwork, and i feel in love with it! She is an amazing artist, this was just one of her doodles, or you can say a catharsis. I feel as if I am in the middle. And im not to for white nor am i to black, I'm in them middle of all the thoughts, feelings, and emotions lay. Left is more for people who choose to learn more and do something about it. Right is more of a way of expressing ones beliefs, thoughts in a more wider perspective of just life in general.

My eye on Photography

BLACK AND WHITE!
I choose this theme because everytime i have my camera i always seem to change my background to black and white. I feel as if when i take photos of nature black and white always seem to bring out all the oldness and culture a tree or nature has to offer!

~ Fashionista~

Back in the sixties, when hippies where dancing on songs from the Beatles and flowerpower spreaded all over the world, a young star was rising. Twiggy became an instant icon and the first big supermodel. Her huge eyes and beautiful eyelashes made her face known throughout the whole world. I feel anything that gets someones attention either posittively or even negatively, is a piece of art work. Not only are the clothes in these pictures art work, but look at the the photography behind it. This was a time of new things, a time of trying something unordinary!~

!THIS MUSIC VIDEO SCREAMS ART!~

I choose this video because i new that it would stand out from more modern type styles of music videos. I have been a fan of Managment, MGMT for short, ever since i went to the 2006 festival of Banaroo, which is located in a little place in Tennessee called Manchester. First off i love all of the colors they use in the video, it was like a flash of all colors of the rainbow. They have no limits and thats what i like to see. They said they were " Rebels, but without a silly cause," they just do what they do. All the colors are vibrant which means they felt like in a calm peaceful video when they shot "Electric Feel." People are in the background just dancing and feeling the music. While they are in the front expressing what art means to them!

~ Is Dance a form of Art?~

"We dance for laughter, we dance for tears, we dance for madness, we dance for fears, we dance for hopes, we dance for screams, we are the dancers, we create the dreams." Unknown

I believe that dance is a form of art because it is just another way for a person to express themselves the way they want to be. A dancer is like a painter, a painter is like a musician, a musician is like a sculptor, and a sculptor is like a film artist. They all have one thing in common, they have a passion in what they are feeling as they express themselves through music, paint,
or even film. They all face the same fears, hopes, dreams and even failures. It is how they deal with their failures and how the rise above it that make them the artist.

~Art, On YouTube?~

The reason i choose this was because it shows you that art takes time, art takes patience and effort. While this man is painting this picture, he makes sure that every detail is there, he never skips any detail. The one part that i thought would be very difficult to do would be the eye shadowing. I am still working on that as an artist myself, i can never seem to get the same symmetric eyes.

~My Diorama~

My Diorama!
For this art project i wanted to incorporate a real true crisis that is happening right now as we speak. Fair Trade was my hubble, my topic of interest. I choose it because it is talking about working together not as countries but as one team to have starvation and help find more cures for people who can not support themselves in a time of despair. I incorporated traits from african culture, because to me Africa has a beautiful nature scene, as well as massive goods and services.

~Human behavior~

Human behavior is the collection of behaviors exhibited by human beings and influenced by culture, attitudes, emotions, values, ethics, authority, rapport, hypnosis, persuasion, coercion and/or genetics.

We see the man on an old dirty desk, with his head held low, well we all know during that time, it was a time of depression and everyone was going through something whether it was loosing their job, car, house, or even family. He seems to be very tired, maybe he s tired of not being able to be the supporter or even brother in his family. The struggle for human behavior is very hard to do.This painting is an example of human behavior because it depicts the emotion felt by some during the 1930's Great Depression.

~Human Nature~

"The Walls of Human Nature"
This is an interesting cavern of images but questions arise, as if to wonder, is there more beyond the doorway?. Are we supposed to be looking more closely. Is it a closed-circuit, or will it open to change? In any event, more information into the world you are weaving is demanded and that is a good thing, in that such a world is evolving, growing and alive. This piece is by Danielle the artiste. I like how he views human nature, he leads one to think a little bit more than what meets the eyes.

~Human Condition~

"Art reflects back at us the human condition both personal and public, the commonplace and the dramatic." Aristotle

*ZEN GARDENS*

Represents human condition

Humans have long turned to gardens—both real and imaginary—for sanctuary from the frenzy and cruel world that surrounds them. These gardens may be as far away from everyday reality as Gilgamesh’s garden of the gods or as near as our own backyard, but in their very conception and the marks they bear of human care and cultivation, gardens stand as restorative, nourishing, necessary havens. We look to this as a relaxation, or an inner peace.

~Human Struggle~

"Am i not a man, nor a brother?"
This to me represents a fight for human struggle. It is a very tragic piece and it sums up the problems that African Americans have had since they were enslaved and brought over here originally. “Am I not a man or a brother?” It gets down further below than what meets the eyes. The fight for human struggle still continues till this day, its how we strive and rise above from it to never let this type of hatred happen again. We can tell that this man is struggle for his freedom and his rights, with the signs of entanglement by the shackles, we see that man is struggled to have his voice heard. The black and white do not help the situation at atll. To me black and white are two colors that when together, do not give off the right suggestion.

~ I'm having a catharis~

~First off..... what does catharsis mean?~

The meaning of the term is highly controversial, but in relation to the drama it generally refers to an emotional result that derives from strong feelings such as great sorrow, fear, pity, laughter, or any other extreme change in emotion; this result has traditionally been variously described as either a purification or a purging of such emotions. So it seems as is this could be somewhat of a doodle, poem, or even piece of art work!

For example:

Romeo and Juliet!

In Romeo and Juliet this might happen when Romeo takes the poison. All the tension and rising action that has been built up so far in the plot comes to a climax at this point, and the audience might experience a feeling of a cathartic release from its termination/resolution. I know i felt angry because Juliet was not able to clear things up with Romeo, therefore they were not able to say what they wanted to say, at the end.!

~FILM AS ART~

Across The Universe (2007)
Across the Universe is a work of art because it shows every different aspect of what people can do when they put there mind to it. All of the paintings do, on being the must famous, the strawberries, and when Jude draws Lucy with just plan chalk on the side of a buidling, they show what it means to be a controversial artist. The music alone was amazing, how they took all of the old Beatles songs and turned them into a new version of what they would be today. Th is is my favorite movie because there is talking, but when the music comes in, it shows so much more than words can ever do!
